Coach Aram Kushigian is a strength and conditioning coach specializing in human performance. He is a biomechanics expert who teaches a systematic understanding of multiplanar movement.
In 2018, Kushigian worked for the Pittsburgh Pirates, and later with Cressey Sports Performance in West Palm Beach, Florida.
In 2019, Aram opened Next Pitch Training Solutions, where (prior the pandemic) he specialized in training elite baseball players in MLB/minor leagues, as well as male and female NCAA-athletes and high school athletes of all different sports, shapes, and sizes.
In 2020, Aram became TPI-certified and began applying his expertise to golfers. He is able to curate exercises promoting overall athleticism, strength, and mobility specific to each of his athletes’ individual needs.
In addition to working with high-end athletes, Coach Aram has years of experience working with everyday folks seeking to improve overall fitness, quality of life, or simply to play pain-free while adding a few yards to their drive.
It's one thing for a coach or trainer to attach an endless list of acronyms after their name, but it's another to be able understand how each person in front of you utilizes their own individual body to form motions.
You see, one problem in the fitness industry is that there is a very low barrier of entry to becoming a personal trainer; Most certifications require only a high school diploma or GED. Unfortunately, many of us have stories of an over-zealous, under-educated personal trainer causing more problems than they are actually solving.
Clients at SFP are the beneficiaries of well-educated coaches.
A degree from the University of Michigan
- Provides a fluent and thorough understanding of functional anatomy.
- Clarifies the interaction of systems within the body, and how we can manipulate these systems to yield the physiological adaptations we seek.
- All our programming is rooted evidence-based training principles, incorporating all the science behind the training.
- Helps assess and examine new training technology, equipment, and research, then incorporate new elements.
This keeps us on the cutting edge of human performance training.
Most golfers who suffer from a lack of speed often times are also the most susceptible to injury. This chicken-or-egg scenario is all too common, and can really make golf not very fun.
The Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) is a consortium of the some of the greatest minds in biomechanics and human sports performance. Their research specifies the physical demands of golf, and common areas of deficiency that are ripe for improvement. TPI also provides trainers with a general framework for efficiently screening and programming for their golfers.
To induce a true systemic change in an athlete, the trainer must understand physiologic ripple-effects of their clients’ past and present behaviors in order to prescribe exercise, and to manipulate these mechanisms accordingly to match the individual’s goals.
Coach Aram is TPI Level-1 certified, demonstrating extreme proficiency in the “Body-Swing Connection.” Drawing from methods developed by the Titleist Performance Institute, we can put together a plan to help you not only hit it farther, but also stay healthier in the process.
